You make an immediate impression on your potential client from the moment you answer your telephone and launch your website.
Let’s take a close look at what identifies you as “expert” in these situations.
Telephone
-
Install a separate business line, preferably not serving as a fax line.
-
Answer the phone in a professional manner, identifying your company and your name.
-
Create a clear voice mail greeting for the times when you can’t get to the phone.
-
Return calls promptly.
-
Keep a list of most commonly asked questions and the answers near your telephone.
-
Keep a list of companies who offer the services you don’t so you can refer customers.
-
Keep a calendar, supply of order forms and pens near the phone.
-
Listen to these audio tips Smile and Telephone.
Website
-
Choose an easy and relevant domain name.
-
Make your website easy to navigate.
-
Resist adding flash and sound to your site. These distract visitors from buying your product.
-
Anticipate the questions your visitors will have about what you offer, how to pay and shipping. Then provide a Frequently Asked Questions page with the answers.
-
Be sure to have an About Us page where you tell a brief history of how and why you started your company.
-
Post contact information where visitors can easily find it.
-
Respond to email inquiries promptly.
-
